Obesity was, until recently, known as the “rich man’s disease,” but that has changed. Obesity now affects low and middle-income countries, or developing nations. A third of all adults worldwide, or 1.46 billion people, are obese, with 904 million in developing countries and 557 million in rich nations. This dramatic shift is such that obesity now kills three times as many people as malnutrition, which was the reverse just a few years ago. Of course, a lifestyle change that includes healthy eating habits and regular exercise is key to avoiding obesity, and/or losing weight, something many overweight people dread. But there is hope. Obese people have conquered their laziness and unhealthy ways and become thin. Who are they? Here are some obese people that became thin out of sheer will.
